Aladdin Peel Treatment for Back Acne (Bacne) in South Korea

"Bacne", or back acne, can make you extremely self-conscious; especially nowadays, when the weather is getting warmer and it's time to start planning trips to the beach. Even if you're not going swimming, any item of clothing that exposes the slightest bit of your back is instantly turned down, which is really sad because it means you're missing out on a bunch of awesome outfits. Even more annoying is that apparently, back acne really has nothing to do with hygiene - showering everyday and diligently applying body scrub seem not to have the slightest effect at all. So what can we do?

Acne (wherever it may be on the body or face) can be caused by one or a combination of many, many factors. Luckily, they can be treated by medication or other treatment programs at a dermatology clinic, so don't be too discouraged or lose faith! One particular treatment that is quite popular in Korea for back acne (and for the face too) is called Aladdin Peel, which is a pretty strong chemical peel imported from Belgium (Libinvest). This might ring a bell if you've already done a bit of research on chemical peels in Korea. Today, I'm here to show you exactly what goes on before, during, and after one session of Aladdin Peel. But first let's take a look at the results - before and after!

Now if you take into consideration that acne treatment can usually never be completed with just one session, you gotta admit that Aladdin Peel does a pretty good job for a one-timer. Obviously, the results aren't a completely flawless back, but a lot of the marks and millet seed acne has cleared up. With multiple sessions (usually about three to five are recommended), I would definitely say the results would only get better.

This is what you can expect from one Aladdin Peel session:

Basic preparation comes first, of course. After changing into a tube-top gown (which you'll need to slide down during treatment), a hot towel and some warm steam helps open up your pores and stimulate blood circulation.

Afterwards, a trained aesthetician will use extracting tools to remove all (or as much as possible) the blackheads, whiteheads, and basically everything that needs poppin' because it ain't going away on its own. Depending on how much needs to be extracted, this can take quite a while and might be a little painful. For a clean and clear back, however, pain must be inevitably endured.

The peeling solution is melted and mixed like the picture shown above. Before I show you the actual peeling process, I'd like to clarify one thing. If you're interested in Aladdin Peel and have done research on the subject, you might have read that the procedure is done through "needles." Indeed, I've had patients ask me whether the peel was done via injections because of this confusing explanation.

Aladdin Peel (known in other countries as 2B Bio Peeling) is a manual version of microdermabrasion, meaning no other equipment is used, and which exfoliates the skin from deep within and not just the surface. This is done by the microscopic needle-like crystals contained in the all-natural ingredients, that are stuck inside the skin and induce a gradual peel over the course of a few days. Long story short, the procedure does not include any injections; just small prickly needles that are pressed into your skin like this:

The person administering the treatment needs to wear gloves because you wouldn't want to exfoliate the palms or cause damage from multiple treatments on other patients. For about 6-7 minutes, the peeling ingredients are aggressively scrubbed across the back. You might not feel much at first, but after a few minutes once the crystals start to pierce your skin, you'll start to feel the burn and sting. Right about when the 7 minutes are up, your back will feel like it's on fire, and the soothing treatments that follow alleviate the pain, but not completely. Just bein' honest here.

The photo below shows application of cooling/soothing gel; soothing treatments also include a cold towel as well as light therapy.

You will feel your skin smarting and itching like mad over a few days. On the first day you are advised against showering. It's also recommended that you wear loose-fitted clothing as to not irritate the skin. And during this week you will notice your skin starting to flake and fall off. It's imperative that you do not scratch or pick at the skin during this time!

Three days later
Four days later
I'd also advise you to check your bed sheets each morning, and clean up the flakes of skin that naturally fall off while you're sleeping. Within about a week the exfoliation process should be complete, and you're left with fresh and rejuvenated skin, shown in the "after" photo above. Though it's not as evident in the photo, the skin has become a lot smoother and softer to the touch, and the blemishes and marks have considerably improved although the occasional pimples are still there.

What do you think? Aladdin Peel is definitely worth a try. It's also available for facial rejuvenation, though I'd imagine it would hurt a bit more! Contact us for an appointment today, for younger, clearer, brighter skin. :)
